There are three ways you can send us your advert.

1: As an electronic camera-ready advert.
2: As a physical camera-ready advert.
3: As component words (and images)
for us to use to produce your advert.


ELECTRONIC CAMERA-READY ART
These should be a hi-resolution jpg
(with the lowest compression) at 300 dpi to the correct canvas size in either CMYK or RGB.

Or as a Press quality PDF in CMYK or RGB (with embedded images and fonts).

Files can be sent to us on CD or DVDor by email to Nicholas Breeze Wood.



PHYSICAL CAMERA-READY ART
These types of adverts will be scanned in by us and converted to digital pictures which we will put onto the page.
All such adverts should be sent the CORRECT SHAPE at TWICE LIFE SIZE so that when they are scanned they will appear with a reasonable quality in the finished magazine.


WRITTEN COPY SENT TO US
Please EMAIL your words to us, and any logo or photo you wish us to use in your advert. Images must be of a reasonable size and resolution.

All adverts needing to be created by us are put together free of charge unless they are very complex, in which case we will charge £45 per hour for the creation of your advert.

We are happy to send you a proof jpg
of your advert for your approval by email before it goes to print.

IMPORTANT NOTES

IMAGE RESOLUTION
Your computer screen shows you images at 72 dpi (dots per inch). This is the standard resolution for photos on a website etc. A 'dot' is a pixal.

But, magazines are printed on paper at 300 dpi, so a photo that appears big on a computer screen will appear much smaller on a printed page. This is because it will need to be shrunk to give it 300 dots per inch instead of 72.

If a 72 dpi image is used in a printed magazine, each dot in the image will be so large that it will be seen by the naked eye and the quality of the image will be bad. Printing with images at 300 dpi makes the dots too small to see with the naked eye and the image has much better quality.

Please remember this when you send us your advert images and logos, if it is too small (too few dpi) when we convert it to 300 dpi it will appear tiny or even microscopic in your advert

ADVERTISERS IN THE USA
Sacred Hoop is shipped by boat to the USA and then dispatched by our North American distributor which causes a delay.
This delay means in effect that the USA is around 2 to 3 months behind the UK. So, for example, the Winter issue will not be available to shops in the US until around the date of our Spring publication date.
You will need to keep this in mind when you design your adverts.

This ONLY applies to US shops. Our US subscribers are sent their copies of Sacred Hoop directly from the UK by Airmail, so they arrive only a few days later than the UK ones do.

SACRED HOOP is published quarterly around the end of Feb, May, Aug and Nov each year.
Every three months the magazine goes out worldwide to subscribers and via retail outlets. Please note that because of shipping time, distribution in US takes place 3 months after publication. Subscription copies are not affected by this delay.

On publication every advertiser receives a FREE COPY of the magazine. Further copies are available to UK advertisers in packs of 10 for £20.00 (inc P&P).

Inclusion of adverts in Sacred Hoop does not imply endorsement, and contents of adverts must comply with all the usual legislation. We retain the right to refuse adverts at our discretion.

We are normally fully booked each issue, so it is best to book your advert as early as possible by phone, or email so that you can be sure that we have the space you require.

BOOKING
Once your advert is booked we will send you an invoice, which is payable by return of post OR by phone/email via credit card. Please send in your advert copy (see below for the technical bits) together with your payment.
